The natural fragrance of cade wood (Juniperus oxycedrus) evokes the landscapes of Provence, where this shrub from the juniper family grows freely in the Mediterranean garrigue and maquis.
Its durable, rot-resistant wood contains an oil that is extracted for its cosmetic and antiseptic properties.

Cade wood shavings are used to create scented sachets, moth repellents, potpourris, or even as a vacuum freshener. They are crafted in Forcalquier, in the heart of the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence.
